Deep shades of green have been a hot ticket over the past few years, along with rich blues and deep charcoal/black. Red, which was once a more popular color, is now seeing a resurgence. The great thing about these color choices is that they tend to stand out amongst the rest. White trim gives these color choices an added pop, but a monotone palette throughout also elevates the exterior to a whole new level.

One of the most important things when considering an exterior paint color is ensuring your palette compliments the home’s architecture. You would never choose a monotone color palette if your home is a historic property oozing in very ornate architectural detail – the paint would hide one of the most interesting parts of your home. You would benefit more from choosing a palette that showcases the architecture. That’s not to say that there is a right or wrong color; there isn’t, but there’s a right and wrong way to showcase your home’s architectural details.
